The Origins
From Humble Beginnings
The year was 2020 and everyone was in lock down trying to shelter themselves from COVID 19. Over the course of that long and arduous time, three members took it upon themselves to create music in their spare time.

The band had been inspired by a wave of indie/alternative bands throughout their life, ranging from Cage the Elephant to Arctic Monkeys, however, they wanted to put a spin on things with their pro LGBTQ+ mindset which they deliver amicably in their music video for their first single Guerrilla Radio.​

They knew that they weren't the only ones who felt this way towards society but they wanted to gather more people who thought alike in the current day and age. They were outcasts of regular society and needed to form a community to rise up against totalitarian rule. Many names were disputed among the members of the band, choosing between names like Insubordinate or Disinfectant but eventually settled on the name Ratcatcher and the Summoners.

When asked about the name of the band, the lead singer states that 'it just sounded cool and we hadn't realised that it actually spelled out rats if you took the starting letter of each word. We just rolled with it as we really just wanted to get to making some damn music.' He also stated that members of the band were hidden deliberately as they wanted to continue their double life while he wanted to embrace music as his main priority. 'I really wanted to have the music be my whole personality but my mates didn't want to be featured in anything apart from making the tunes which I respect, it just means I'm now the face of the brand but I wouldn't be here without my mates.
HEADLINING A BAND
A band with only one face is a difficult thing for most brands to bare when it comes to marketing, but it is possible.

The front man and lead singer of the band is never named in public outlets as a key part of the band's identity, is the fact they barely reveal theirs. Nevertheless, promotional art constantly features the lead singer as the part of the band that is able to easily show the more human side of the R.A.T.S.
​
From the brief information we do have about him, he is quite relaxed and chilled out and carries his guitar wherever he goes. He is constantly featured in his classic checkered flannel and jeans and is most well known for his abundance of hair.

He has previously stated that the band needed some sort of identity, so he would fulfill that role for them despite being the most introverted out of the group.
